# Create an e-label

> Enter your wine's details, ingredients, allergens, and nutrition to build a publication-ready e-label.

An e-label is a factual public page about one wine, reached by scanning the QR code on the bottle. This guide walks through what goes into it.

You can start a new label from the [homepage generator](https://vinum-elabel.com) (no account needed) or from **My labels** when signed in. If the wine already has an e-label with another provider, [import it](/en/guides/import-from-another-provider) instead of starting from scratch.

## Workflow

<Steps>
  <Step title="Start a new label">
    Open the generator. The live preview beside the form shows the page exactly as a customer will see it.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add the wine's identity">
    Wine name, vintage, wine type, producer and bottler details, country, region, and appellation.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add compliance details">
    Alcohol content, net volume, ingredients, allergens, and nutrition values per 100 ml. Use the nutrition calculator if you don't have lab values — it estimates from alcohol and residual sugar.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review the summary">
    The summary tab flags missing required fields. Check for typos, wrong units, and wording that reads as promotional.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Publish">
    Publish once the digital page and the physical bottle label have been reviewed together and agree with each other.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Wine identity

Give a scanner enough to know exactly which wine the page describes:

* Wine name
* Vintage year, where applicable
* Wine type — red, white, rosé, sparkling, or other
* Producer name and address
* Bottler information, where applicable
* Country, region, appellation, PDO, or PGI
* Net volume
* Alcohol content (% vol.)

## Compliance details

This is the heart of the e-label — the information the EU rules let you provide digitally:

* **Ingredients**, in descending order of weight
* **Allergens**, especially sulphites
* **Energy and nutrition values** per 100 ml
* Required languages for your target markets (the viewer handles [all 24 official EU languages](/en/reference/internationalization))

<Warning>
  Never publish placeholder content. A QR code makes wrong information easier to find — it doesn't make it correct.
</Warning>

## Optional factual details

Factual extras are welcome as long as they don't crowd the mandatory information:

* Grape varieties
* Serving temperature
* Storage instructions
* Production method facts
* Sustainability or certification facts

Keep marketing off the mandatory page — winery history, awards, discounts, and social links belong on your own website. See [digital label best practices](/en/compliance/digital-label-best-practices).
