# QR codes

> Download, test, and print QR codes built to stay scannable on bottles for 10+ years.

The QR code is the bridge between your bottle and your e-label page. Bottles stay in cellars and on shelves for years, so Vinum treats every QR code as a permanent packaging asset — not a temporary link.

## Permanent URLs

Every published label lives at a permanent address:

```text theme={null}
https://vinum-elabel.com/e-labels/{id}
```

* The URL never changes for the life of the label — it's designed to keep working for **10+ years**, matching the shelf life of the bottles that carry it.
* **Published labels stay online even if you cancel your plan.** A QR code printed on a bottle keeps resolving. That's our permanence promise.
* The page opens without any login or app — a phone camera is enough.

## Built for the print shop

* **Print-ready SVG** — the QR code downloads as a vector file, so it stays crisp at any size, from a back label to a poster. Hand it straight to your label designer or printer.
* **High error correction** — codes are generated at the highest error-correction level, tolerating roughly **30% damage**. A scuffed, wine-stained, or partially varnished code still scans.

## Print recommendations

* Print at least **2 × 2 cm** where the packaging allows
* Use strong contrast between code and background (dark code on light ground scans best)
* Leave a quiet margin of empty space around the code
* Avoid placing the code over texture, foil, folds, or tightly curved edges
* Test scans from arm's length and in dim light — like a restaurant table

<Tip>
  Do a small proof run and scan it with several different phones before committing to a full print run. Check again after varnish or lamination — surface treatments can affect contrast.
</Tip>

## Wording next to the code

Use neutral wording beside the mandatory e-label QR code, for example:

* "Ingredients and nutrition"
* "Product information"

Keep promotional language away from the compliance code. If you also want a marketing QR code (shop, story, tastings), print it as a clearly separate code.

## Preflight checklist

Before the artwork goes to print:

* The QR code resolves to the **published** label (not a draft)
* The page opens without login on iOS and Android cameras
* The page is readable on a phone without zooming
* The languages your target markets require are available
* The physical label still carries everything that must stay on-pack
* The printed code scans after all finishing treatments
